Dentures on the NHS or private?
hi my name is Lindsay i work as a dental nurse in east lancashire. i would recommend that you contact NHS direct and ask for the names and details of local NHS dentists in your area who are currently accepting new patients. NHS dentures currently cost £189, you could also contact a local dental technician out of the yellow pages, this can work out cheaper as you do not have to pay the dentist and the technician for their time. technicians usually provide a range of dentures from which you can choose the tooth shape and shade etc and these are of varying prices depending on the quality which you choose. another option is to contact any local hospitals with a dental department or a dental training hospital and these maybe provided for you free of charge. another thought is if it is affecting your general health you could ask your GP to referr you to the local community dental team or hospital. i hope that this has been of some help to you.
