okay. I really DO want dentures, or implants. either or. My teeth are horrible, and I wasn't ever happy with them and I will completely admit I haven't taken care of them the way I should have, because I have always HATED them. I'm 26 years old, according to 3 dentists I've seen too young for dentures or implants, and they want to save my teeth. I don't want to save them! I honestly don't!
I've always had crooked teeth to start off with, and I drank nothing but soda for YEARS and now they are decaying. Not horribly, its not noticable when I'm talking but even my front teeth are decaying. I've had a root canal on one tooth and my dentist said it doesn't need to be capped...I think it should have been. I just want my teeth replaced. I KNOW its permenant. I don't need all replaced, just want 7 on top. Both my parents have had dentures since they were my age as well and I am well aware that its irreversable. Are there any dentists left that are willing to do it even if they can be saved?
I am young but I WANT dentures.?
When I was 45 years old I was told I was to young for dentures that in 10 years my whole face would age so much by my bones deteriorating. So I started doing research to see if what they were telling was true. It is. Sorry to tell you this but if you think you have problems with your teeth now just wait. It ages you big time.
Truth is some people really do well with dentures but just as many if not more have a really hard time wearing their dentures. Often if you have a really skilled lab and dentist the upper will fit will good suction but not the lowers. They can't get suction but just sit there. The muscles in the face cause the denture to come up. Smiling, talking or eating will make it dislodge. So often people have to resort to gluing them in. Even worse some folks stop wearing them entirely. Doesn't look good at all!
See this link before you suddenly think dentures are your desire for a perfect smile. http://www.doctorspiller.com/DenturesYes...
I have dental implants now because I couldn't save my teeth. Dental implants are terribly expensive yet the implants save the bone from deteriorating and act as tooth roots keeping the bone strong. You can see my new smile in my avatar. Pretty as can be isn't it! I love my new smile but would be remiss to tell you that these feel anything like real teeth. They don't. If you can save your teeth please do it. If they are crooked there are ways to fix that. If they are decayed they might be able to fix that too. If not and you do get denture. I pray that you are one of the few that dentures work well for.
Reply:Please if the dentists you have seen feel there is a way to save your teeth please do it. Dentures for some and I would say a great many people are such a pain in the butt. First your sense of taste is affected. Of course it is when you think of your mouth covered with the plate, and often your dentures do not quite fit right. You are imagining all the trouble going down the drain and a set of shiny new teeth. personally go to the dentis and get the work you need. You will regret it Trust me.
Reply:Maybe you should talk to your dentist about Lumineers. Go to their website and do some research. It's not as drastic but should do the trick for you. It's something to consider anyway. Yes, teeth are very important. That's why the dentists don't want to pull your teeth. My husband is 40 yrs old and the dentist won't pull his either (he's asked). Good luck!
Reply:just tie all your teeth individually to a doorknob. then slam it, pulling out all of your tooth (being drunk may help with this). once all your teeth are removed, then return to the dentist who will then give you some new ones.
note: side effects involve extreme pain, loss of blood, impaired ability to drive a vehicle under the influence of alcohol.
disclaimer: please note that i will not be held liable for covering the payments of your fake teeth.
Reply:go to a dentist tell them what you want %26amp; will pay cash
THEY WILL DO IT if not go to another one
Reply:No ethical dentist will pull viable teeth, anymore than a doctor would cut off a healthy limb. If you were to get dentures at your age, you will look 10 to 20 years older than your actual age by the time you are in your 40's. Bone loss and a shrunken jaw line will be evident in time. You body was meant to function with all your teeth present. Removing them will cause health complications far beyond your mouth.
You attitude towards your teeth is more than just not liking them. May I suggest you talk to a qualified counselor to find out why you hate an important part of your body so much.
Reply:Its not as great as you think it is. Dentures are a pain. As nice as it would be to have bright shiny new teeth, that you wouldnt have to take care of, its not the best idea.
If its a money issue, dentists will usually pull the teeth. Because its much cheaper to pull them than to fix them, thats what many people opt for. There are many options, however, and if your teeth are decayed, and you don't have the money to fix them, they will pull them for you.
I would NOT suggest getting dentures, there are many other options. They can type up a plan for you with the financials listed, so that you have a better idea of what everything would cost. Dentures are not cheap either, at least for a good pair.
