Anyone who recently got full upper Dentures!?

Hi, I got full immediate upper Dentures, two days ago, I would like to know about how long will i take my gums to heal? How often I should be rinsing with warm salt water and rinsing my dentures? and lastly should I take them out and rest my gums or mostly leave them in? Thank for any information.

If, i am not wrong, i think you have gone for immediate denture!

Some instructions i would like to suggest--

1. Biting on the denture will promote clotting. Slight bleeding can last up to 2-3 days though.

2. Use an ice compress on the affected area for 20 minutes on and 20 minutes off for the first 36 hours.

3. Limit your diet to soft nurturing foods and plenty of fluids for the first week.

4. Don't take the denture out the day it is inserted, rinse your mouth with warm salt water before going to bed. (1 tsp. Salt in 1 cup warm water.)

5. On second or third day ,carefully remove the denture twice a day and clean it with a toothbrush and toothpaste. Rinse your mouth with warm salt water.

6. As the denture becomes loose call for a reline appointment.

7.Thirty-six hours following surgery, the application of moist heat to the sides of the face is beneficial in reducing the size of the swelling.

8.Take your medicine properly.Do not forget to take the painkiller or anti inflammatory drug!

Follow your dentist's instructions.

Take care.
