I am worried about my partial dentures...?

I'm going to Germany to see my dad and was wondering if when I go through the metal detectors if my dentures will set them off? Since I'm staying with a host family also (I'l just stay for the school trip) I was wondering how I can hide the fact I have dentures. They have to obviously stay in water and I dont' want my host family to think I'm weird. PLEASE ANY HELP!

No, the partials will not set off the metal detectors...

Just take them out at night like you do at home.. keep the door closed to your room and place the dentures in a lidded, colored container (with water/cleaner in it, of course) and keep it next to the bed. You won't want to keep it in the bathroom juuuuuuuuuust in case someone found it.

Then just do your normal routine when you get up in the morning... no one will know!

Enjoy your time with your Dad!

Many people wear removable full and partial dentures, and Western European countries are no exception.

You also have the option of cleaning them thoroughly at bettime, brushing your remaining teeth and gums, and sleeping with them in place. Nothing wrong with that at all, and many wearers of these prosthetic devices do so nightly.

Cleaning thoroughly once a day is very important though.
