Can you tell someone is wearing dentures when you kiss them?

I'm considering my options. I've researched dentures and got all the information I need to know...except the "really important" stuff...Will my husband be able to tell I am wearing dentures? Also, will my *ahem* "love life" be affected? I'm 36 and concerned what my 31 year old husband is going to think of me. I know I will LOOK better, but I'm worried about my relationship with my hubby. any advice from people who have gone what I am going through.

Please no, hillbilly comments. I'm from Chicago. I'm just a victim of heredity

I am a married woman who has had full dentures for 6 years, my husband was part of the entire evolution and continues to be a very supportive partner. I included him in every aspect of my transition to dentures.

We are very active socially and sexually and for the sexual part- sometimes my teeth are in, sometimes they are out. It is all about what you are comfortable with. Some people who wear dentures never let their significant others see them when they take their teeth out, others get past it.

And it is possible to keep your dentures in place during fellatio. Practice makes perfect or is practice is just fun?

Reply:I am 39 and have been wearing dentures since 2000. If your husband really loves you, i don't think he will mind at all. Using denture powder or adhesive,(i call them my teeth glue.) lol will help alot and will take alot of that stress away. Ok?
Reply:just remeber how lucky you are to live in the good ole usa where the mdedicaid will provide some new choppers. my gums shrunk so much over the years they cannot help me. i just have be careful what i buy to east. milk is my favorite. i drink lots of liquids. wine is good. help your breath. i like old irish rose or what the call "mad dog" 20/20. sweet.
Reply:Did you talk to your loved hubby about it? I'm quite sure that he will love you as much as he does now! All the best
Reply:HELLO DEEBOP,

ONLY THROUGH DEEP FRENCH KISSING AND BY EXPLORING YOUR PALATE BY YOUR PARTNER CAN YOU POSSIBLY TELL.

WHY?

BECAUSE SOFT TISSUE AS THE PALATE FEELS COMPLETELY DIFFERENT THAN THE HARD PLASTIC FROM A DENTURE WHICH COVERS THE PALATE.

I WOULD THINK THAT HAVING DENTURES SHOULD NOT MAKE A DIFFERENCE IN REAL LOVE IF IT'S THERE.
Reply:Well, your husband will know you have them, but if that's what you really need to do I think it would affect your love life if you leave them out a lot. Sorry but it's just not an attractive thing because it changes the whole shape of a person's face and makes them look 40 years older when they're not wearing them. People say they do leave them out sometimes because they get uncomfortable. If I were you I would consider the other options first.
Reply:Dentures have come a long way since they first came out. Originally, all the teeth in the dentures were perfectly aligned and it was pretty obvious for the elderly who had dentures (a series of perfectly aligned white teeth) and who didn't. Now they are doing clever things like adding "imperfections" to make it a little less obvious.

If you're married, though, your husband would eventually find out if you had dentures or not. It's nothing to be ashamed of. It's a tool for healthier living.
Reply:I have kissed my Mother many times and never would have known she was wearing dentures unless she told me.
Reply:No is the answer to the first question, unless they are cramming their tongue in your mouth, they won't know. Or if your dentures don't fit correctly and they flop around in your mouth, then they might know. Hubby won't care, he'll probably like the BJ's more with your teeth out (no accidental scrapes). BTW I have had full dentures for almost a year, and no girls that I have kissed said anything was different. Also, the wait to have all that work done is probably the worst part of the whole ordeal, just thinking whats this gonna be like, whats that gonna be like??? After everything was done and over with for me, It was nothing like what I expected (in a good way that is). Good luck!!!!
Reply:my wife is 29 and got her dentures last year. i think nothing less of her for doing so and as a matter of fact she has a beautiful smile that she can now show off to the world. as long as they fit ok, (realign once gums shrunk) there is no reason why they would not stay in. early in it was hard for her to adjust to them as far as what glue to use or how much. as far as the romantic part of it, nothing really changes. they do not prohibit you from being romantic in any sense of the word. The worst part of them is the anticipation of the process. once you have it done, you have cleared the highest hurdle. Dont worry, actually your husband may be really anticipating showing off his beautiful wife with the great smile as i was with my wife. Its not that bad! :)
Reply:I once dated a lovely girl who wore dentures. She told me about them the first time we met even before we started dating so there was no surprise later on. I couldn't tell she was wearing them when we kissed, although when "making out like teenagers" (were weren't too much older than that at the time), I could definitely feel the hardware in her mouth. It was a little strange at first but I got used to it. I'm sure your husband will too.
