Can anyone tell me what (product) to use to keep my dentures in place that will not stick to my gums and mouth

I have recently gotten dentures, the bottom denture especially does not stay in place, i have used poligrip but when i remove the denture all that goo is stuck to my mouth and it takes forever to get it off! GAG! What products can anyone recommend?? Any helpful denture hints? I am only 40 so I don't have many peers who have any knowledge at all.

If the product did not stick to your gums and dentures, how would it hold your dentures in? Use less Polygrip. It should only take a very thin film.

If the denture fits your gums well, but you still want them tighter, try using a powder. They sell them in the same section as the pastes, but they are either on the top or bottom shelf, because they don't sell as much. Wet the denture and apply a light dusting of the powder. You want the denture to look like a cake pan that has been coated with flour. Dust it on, shake it off, insert the denture into your mouth.

Also, you may eventually learn that a slight degree of looseness is okay. As long as the denture isn't plopping out of your mouth, you will get used to the idea that it IS in place and it will be there when you need it for speaking or chewing and maybe you won't need any adhesive at all. Maybe.
Reply:If the denture does not stay in place then they need to be adjusted. Go back to the dentist you got them from and have him check the fit and adjust them. Also when using polygrip type products you only use a pea size dot at each end of the denture and in the middle and don't spread it all over the entire denture. You do need to go back to the dentist though for an adjustment if the don't stay in place.

when I brought home Seabond for Lower

%26amp; Seabond for Upper dentures. You trim

the form as directed, wet it and put it in

place. It may last until next day, where

as tube adhesive undoes with hot liquids,

and is hard to unstick from applying too

much.
Reply:I AGREE WITH DR. SAM. THE POWER ADHESIVES ARE NOT AS MESSY AS THE POLIGRIP, WHERE TOO MUCH CAN LEAVE A MESS.
