Replacement for lost dentures?

My mother recived dentures /partials about 3 months ago and accidentally threw them away in the trash. When she called the dentist they said they threw her impressions away and she would have to start all over again. The insurance company will not pay 50% because she has to have them for 5 years first. Is there anything else she can do. She cannot afford to pay the full [rice for new one's.

Replacement for lost dentures?
That's unfortunate. the price for any type of prosthetic is through the roof. There are different options available to you. First, in many areas there are clinics that do nothing but specialize in dentures. They usually only charge about 50% regular cost since it is ALL they do. Another option is a medical payment plan. There are quite a few out there and they cater to those who need work done, dental or otherwise and set up easy payment plans with low interest. You may actually be able to combine both. Just check in the yellow pages under dentures, a lot of times these places won't be listed under dentists. Or they may be under Dental labs. Good luck and I hope it works out OK. The bad part is that not having them in can affect the rate of bone loss in her jaw and cause a problem later on if not dealt with. I hope it works out for you
Reply:check a local university to see if they have a dental school

dental students work on patients to learn under the direct supervision of a certified dentist

these services are free

don't wait too long as the gums will recede or will cause bone loss making replacement difficult or impossible
Reply:Wait a minute I think I've got a spare set.

Nae, just 2 x upper sets, no good eh.
Reply:She really should go with a discount dental plan. I have a AMeriplan and the saving are great. It's not insurance so there are no restrictions are limitations. The phone # is 1-800-784-1719
