Anyone with dental knowledge about dentures?

can you tell me if the immeadiate dentures the ones that are placed in right after teeth are extracted can still be made if a person is missing teeth in the front-i was told a mold is made first when natural teeth are still in but if many natural teeth are already missing is it still possible to do it that way? thank you

Regardless of how many teeth are missing, and where they were located, a preliminary impression will be taken of whatever you have. Then it goes to the lab for a tray... then a final impression is taken... then it goes back to the lab...then a bite registration is taken, along with a shade (color), then it goes back to the lab... then a try-in appointment is scheduled, the teeth are set in wax, you have to approve the shade and the size/shape of the teeth.... then it goes back to the lab to be 'finished' if all is well... when you have the teeth extracted is when you get the denture inserted. Follow-up visits are then scheduled as needed for adjustments... and then a full reline appointment is usually scheduled six months later....

This scenario is for a case where the posterior (back) teeth are extracted prior to the preliminary impression visit.
Reply:Yes they can still make a mold even if you are missing teeth.
