Hard to eat with dentures...?

my father finds it hard to eat practically anything at the dinner table now. he had all of his top teeth pulled and got dentures on top. he complains and refuses to eat things when they are either too hard or too sticky...but he seems fine with some decent steak and meats...

is there anything that he can do to help him be able to eat normal???

Hard to eat with dentures...?
Those other answers are soooooo wrong!!! First of all, if his dentures were made at the same time his teeth were pulled, he should get them relined now that his mouth has healed/shrunken/changed shape. This will give a tighter fit. If he has lost weight, this will also help. He could also look into getting a few implants placed to attach to the underside of the denture. The top of the implants would have a female attachment, with the "male" on the underside of the denture, or a bar could be made that attaches to the implants with clips on the denture.
Reply:It's quite normal to be frustrated trying to eat with dentures. Is he using a denture adhessive? He should be, this makes it so the denture doesn't move while he chews and makes sores on the gums. He can also have his dentures adjusted about every six months.
Reply:let me tell ya...they aint gonna be no more nice eating for him with false teeth short of grits and eggs over easy he aint gonna be no happy camper...the happiest day of my life was when I broke a tooth on my uppers and put em in a jar...they been there every since. LOL seriously...dentures are a pain...they are for looks nothing more...if he has recently had this done..its just gonna take time...I can crack pecans with my gums....he will learn
