Every dentist I call, including the Houston Dental School says "sorry, you have to pay up front" but I applied for Care Credit and got denied. I am sick, weak, throwing up, and can't eat because 90% of my teeth are broken and infected. Yes I let it go too long but now it hurts way too bad. The dentist gave me 10 Tylenol 3 and told me to come back when I figure out how to pay the $5,000 for extractions and dentures. I've been on the internet for hours and can't find any help. I can make monthly payments, I have a job but my credit is bad. I've never tried to get welfare or state aid so I don't even know where to start but I need help before I die from this poison leaking out of my mouth.
Tooth infection need extractions %26amp; dentures-no insurance, bad credit-Houston TX. Any suggestions?
I suggest you try a dental University, they have one in Houston. I am a student at one (last year) and can tell you that you get excellent work at an excellent price. Don't worry about having students work on your teeth, they have plenty of professionals there on hand to guide the students and check their work. Students are always lookinf for new patients. It will take longer than a dentist, but it will be a lot cheaper. They also have at least one specialist from each field (of specialty) so you can get everything taken care of.
Reply:OMG! That is awful! Did he give you any antibiotics for the infection? Go directly to your health and human services office and get some medical insurance (Medicaid).
Reply:Try the county social services dept, tell them without the dental work you will be unable to continue working and that you are able to pay it back in time but need the work done now. Ask if they have special programs that have to be asked for unusual circumstances or conditions. If they deny you benefits, call the free legal services agency for assistance to get the benefits you are entitled to if they have them. After trying DSS, try local charities, for a temp loan by explaining the situation. Hope this helps.
Reply:They may have free dental clinic in the Houston area.Check your local phone book..or call a nearby charity they should know.Good luck.
Reply:Oh my gosh, I'm so sorry to hear that, I was in your shoes once when I was pregnant. Hope this helps you:
