Is it safe to put dentures in an ultrasonic cleaner ?

The upper dentures accumulate a lot of tartar and plaque that won"t come off with a toothbrush. I am wondering if an ultrasonic jewelry cleaner filled with water work better than a toothbrush.

Is it safe to put dentures in an ultrasonic cleaner ?
Yes, you can do that. My dentist does it all the time. You can use a denture cleaner that you buy from the store, just not one that foams up too much - or maybe your dentist (or denturist) can give you a sample of what they use. It is a bit stronger. Soak/vibrate in the ultrasonic for a few minutes. Then take a denture brush (or a hard toothbrush) and brush them. If the tartar is still stuck on, your dentist or hygienist can scale them for you in the same way that they would on your natural teeth. Then it should be a lot easier to keep them clean with regular maintenance. Hope this helps. =)
Reply:sometimes you can use a wire brush
Reply:Only if you take them out of your mouth first.
