My mom is getting dentures......?

My mom is getting dentures. Getting all her teeth pulled out on Tuesday and won't be able to eat "regular" food till at least 7 weeks. My mom is really thin to begin with and they are worried about her weight going down. Any suggestions on soft foods or some sort of protein drink to keep up her weight and strength? Thanks a bunch!

She wont be able to chew but you can puree her food ( put in a blender) I have worked in the nursing field for years , when i was doing my training we had to feed eachother (students) purred food , it tastes the same but its just like pudding , you can blend the meat add some kind of sauce to blen with it to make it soft or you can blend it where she just has to gum it , i suggest her eating broths and puddings soemthing very smooth no salt or seaonings for the first few days till the gums heal some or it may cause more pain ...Good Luck to you and your mom . And some Ensure health shakes would also be good to keep her weight up . or blend some cake or ice cream wouldprobbaly feel good on her gums . try some fatning foods to keep the pounds on .
Reply:mashed potatoes are good, creamed corn, rice i guess, soups good to.
Reply:Your mother might like a banana shake, or baby food. She can also use blender to process home made chicken or beef soup, vegetable puree etc ...
