I got my new dentures immediately after having all of my teeth pulled. It has been abou 4months now and my dentist told me to come back and schedule a relining after 6 months. My problem is that the dentures have gotten to the point where that are very loose andeven using Fixodent they come loose if I bight anything. I seen a relining kit at Wal-Mart the other day and was curious if anyone has tried it and if it will ruin my teeth where I cannot have the professionally re-lined? Does it work good? How does it work?
Would it ruin my dentures if?
Dentures cost a lot of money. I would not use anything from walmart on them. I would go back to the dentist and tell them the problem. Where they were the ones to fit you they should be the ones to fix the problem. That way it also saves you the worry as well. Even if they need to make you all new dentures so that they fit right. They cannot just leave you with not being able to eat because they are too loose. I hope you get nice fitting teeth soon. Goodluck!!
Reply:Go back to your dentist and tell him about this. It would be best if you tell him/her about this.
Reply:I seriously doubt it would ruin your dentures, but it could cause some other problems, such as improper alignment, bite, etc. Personally, I wouldn't touch the stuff.
Dentists have their reasons for waiting. I went through the same thing, so I turned to the adhesives.
Even though dentists usually advise against using adhesives, I've found that they help a great deal. But it takes some trial and error to figure out the right amount of it to use. Too much can be as bad as not enough.
Follow the directions, make sure the dentures are clean, and try experimenting with different amounts to find out what works best for you until you can get them relined professionally.
