I was about your age when I got dentures.

No the dentures are not painful but the teeth pulling is.

Even with a shot and numbness. I was awake.

I had 6 pulled at the same time, got it over with!

Maybe two weeks between pulling and getting dentures so my mouth could heal.

If you are in pain now from your teeth you will be quite relieved after dentures, no more pain.

Well fitting dentures will become part of you, you'll hardly know they are there after a while.

Listen to the dentist about the color. I wanted "white" but he said they would look unnatural, and be obvious.

He was right. I picked a slightly stained color and people are

really surprised to find out I have dentures.

I don't know what Butch is referring to. Your face doesn't collapse.

My face is round, normal. Yours will be too.

Good luck to you. I wish you well.
Reply:brush your damn teeth and you wont get the disease you sashsquash.
Reply:I have 4 teeth in a partial.....After you get used to it....It is fine....
Reply:you could probably go for inplants instead, its where they screw in your teeth to your jawbone. Can be expensive though. Depending on what you can afford, you should try to save your teeth, having all out dentures can give you that toothlless look because your face collapses. Ya i know this doesn't make much sense, but you can't go back from having a full plate.
Reply:If you want full dentures, they pull all of your teeth for it. If only 4 teeth are loose, I would suggest getting a partial instead. But really, you should be speaking to your dentist about your options, not us.
Reply:your face will only have that "toothless" look if you don't wear your dentures.
